You will have undoubtedly come across products that are guaranteed for 5 years. No polishing, waxing, paint protection needed or care.
I don't know about anyone else but, I don't feel comfortable trusting statements that guarantee protection for five years without any
maintenance. I would be more inclined to believe that I am being told what I would like to hear. That there is a magic cure to paint
protection, when there really isn't.
These guarantees have a lot to do with P.T.F.E and other various products. We also supply P.T.F.E products, and although they
produce fantastic results and have lasting protection, They still require a minimum of upkeep or maintenance. Any vehicle owner who
buys into the statment of " no waxing " or maintenance needed for five years, is very fast heading for serious trouble.
Protectants will dramatically slow down the acid damage effect from the environment,whether this is to do with bird droppings or acid rain
or anything to do with fallout, but they will not stop it if maintenance is not kept up periodically. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A 5 YEAR
OR LIFETIME PROTECTION. IGNORE THIS WARNING AT YOUR OWN PERIL....WE KNOW...CARS FROM THE WRX CLUB TELL US
EVERYTHING. You'll always need to eventually wax or re-seal. Whether it's normal waxes or even P.T.F.E. A minimum amount of
maintenance or upkeep will always be required.
EG. You see a bird dropping. You leave it for a day or two. You wash the car and it comes off.You do a quick mist and wipe and
everything is back to normal. Your paint protection "HAS" done it's job...It buys you time. No polishing, or re waxing. That's how simple it
